AirBnB
Wherever you want!
For bigger groups or families, this could be a great option! If you want to stay close to the venue, feel free to stay in East Nashville. Otherwise, we love the Belmont/Hillsboro area, downtown, or if you want come hangout with Dan in Old Hickory!
VRBO
Wherever you want!
For bigger groups or families, this could be a great option! If you want to stay close to the venue, feel free to stay in East Nashville. Otherwise, we love the Belmont/Hillsboro area, downtown, or if you want come hangout with Dan in Old Hickory (I think a few neighbors have VRBOs if you'd like to literally be my neighbor)!
Frequently Asked Questions
(Click Cards for Answers)
What should I wear?
Summer formal attire is requested. Light fabrics, flowy dresses, summer suits, etc. Women, please avoid white, beige, cream or like colors. Check out our Pinterest (linked on locations page) board for inspiration!
What time should I arrive?
Please arrive 15-30 minutes before the ceremony starts. This gives you time to find parking and get seated comfortably.
Is there parking available?
Yes! Our ceremony venue has free parking and Emerson Hall has free valet service. If going downtown afterwards, it may be best to Uber/Lfyt from the venue as parking downtown is limited.
Will there be food at the reception?
Absolutely! We'll have a full dinner reception with cocktail hour, followed by dessert and dancing. Dietary restrictions? Let us know when you RSVP!
Can I bring a plus one?
Plus ones are listed on your invitation. Unless the plus one is listed on your invite, plus ones are not allowed. If you have questions about your invitation or need to make changes, please reach out to us directly!
What's the weather like in May?
Nashville in late May is typically warm and pleasant, with temperatures in the 70s-80s.
How did you meet?
We met at Belmont University in 2017! Though we were friends for years, it wasn't until 2023 that we realized we were meant to be more than friends.
How long have you been together?
We've been officially dating since August 2023, but our friendship goes back to the college days. We're so grateful to have a friendship to build our relationship on!
Tell us about the proposal!
Dan proposed on December 14th, 2024 at Old Hickory Lake with a custom-built rocking bench! Sydney said yes!
What do you love to do together?
We love exploring going on walks, yapping, eating and making each other laugh. Any activity that facilitates any of these things is what we love to do!
Where will you live after the wedding?
We'll be staying in Old Hickory (Nashville)! Sydney has received a job offer after the BAR exam to work for a law firm in town and Dan has a steady job in town he loves! We're so excited to continue to live here!
Any fun facts about you two?
Our first date was seeing Barbie, first kiss was in the river/stream at McCabe, our favorite date was going on the General Jackson steamboat on the Cumberland River. Sydney got multiple Christmas cards from Dan in college, well before we were together, and somehow she still liked him.

Things to Do in Nashville
Nashville has so much to offer! Here are some of our favorite spots that we think you'll love during your visit.
Our Favorite Dining Spots
Red Headed Stranger
Where we had our first date! East Nashville spot with great tacos, crunchwrap (recommended), and even a solid burger!
Swett's
We promise it's the name of the restaraunt, although you may get the meat sweats from the amazing food served. Nashville classic meat and three spot with a great atmosphere. If you want to experience old Nashville (not the new yuppy Nashville) this is the place for you.
Benji's Bagels
The bagel spot in Nashville. There's a very good chance you'll see us there, as it's a staple. Any and all options are phenomenal, we promise you'll want to go back within the weekend.
Chuy's
Great mexican spot in Midtown Nashville. The creamy jalapeno dip is so good, Dave requested a fondue fountain at the wedding of it. While we sadly cannot provide that, go get yourself some while you're in town!
Our Favorite Activities
General Jackson Showboat
Our favorite date we've been on! It's a little pricey, but you can get tickets to go on a steamboat from Opry Mills all the way to downtown Nashville. You can even pay for dinner and a show, or just enjoy the ride and view of the Cumberland river! Makes you feel like John Hartford (not sure how many will get that reference but if you do, please let Dan know so he can be your best friend).
Hike Radnor Lake
A beautiful hiking trail around a lake, located just south of Nashville. Frequent walks/hikes that Dan and Sydney go on the weekends are here. Pairs very well with Benji's bagels. Walk off the cals or earn that bagel! No shame if you just want to eat a bagel, we get that completely.
Walk Shelby Bottoms Greenway
Staying in East Nashville? A beautiful greenway along the Cumberland river to walk. Has a full park, baseball and softball fields, and plenty of great restaruants around it in the neighborhoods nearby. If you have great weather, it's worth checking out!
Music City Indoor Pro Kart
Have older children and want a fun activity for them to do while visiting? While it's a little pricey, nothing is more exhilirating than go karting. Syd and Dan had a fun date here and it's been a go to spot for Dan's friends when they visit for years. Also has an arcade too, which Syd and Dan are very fond of.
Our Favorite Places
Belmont University
Where it all started for SydDan. Gorgeous campus located in the heart of Nashville, minutes from Music Row. Go visit the law school Syd has spent so many hours at, then drive down Music Row into downtown to see the history of the city. When driving down Music Row, please play "Down on Music Row" by Dolly Parton. Thank you.
Robert's Western World
Where we celebrated our engagement, and a constant place to go when going out together. Like country music but fed up with modern country and bad musicians? Welcome to hillbilly heaven. We recommend going between 6-10pm to Wednesday-Saturday to see one of the best guitar players you'll see. Get either a recession special or cheese curds if you're going to order food. Also, if you want an unconventional church service, Sunday mornings there are something special.
Old Hickory Boat Launch
Where Dan proposed to Syd and we spent early dates yapping away! If you have a car and want to get away from the city for a bit, we recommend going to take a lake day out in Old Hickory. Minutes from Dan's (soon to be our) house, there's a beach if you wanted to swim, or a lake to dip your feet in, or fish!
Roys Tavern
We like to play darts. If staying in East Nashville, this is close to you! Great pizza, burgers and appetizers on top of pool and darts. We found this place after our first tour of Emerson Hall and have loved it ever since!
